Aircraft Engine and Propeller
Lycoming Engine and Sensenich Propeller
What a great combination ... RV-6A -- Lycoming -- Sensenich!
This RV-6A has a factory new engine ... Lycoming O-360 A1A, with <63>
The fixed pitch Sensenich Propeller (85" pitch) made for the RV-6A and 180 solid horsepower of the brand new Lycoming O-360 A1A gets you off the ground QUICK … less than 300’ (less than 500’ at max gross weight). All Van’s airplanes are quick to break the bonds but a light weight (1,100 lbs.) that is aerodynamically slick with a high powered engine will perform even better than published numbers.
Serious horse power + serious pitch (85") = SERIOUS PERFORMANCE.
Oil Cooler
The Niagra Development oil cooler model 20002A is easily capable of keeping the 180 hp Lycoming’s oil cool. Oil temperatures in the summer in Houston hover around 180 degrees Farenheit. Winter temperatures around 170dF. If that’s too cool for you, a smaller opening to the cooler will move the temp up for you … but why? Cool is good.
60 Ampere Alternator
A hefty 60 amp alternator supplies ample supply of energy to power everything in the panel, lights and more. This is the Vans ES14684 power unit.
Starter by Sky-Tec.
Flyweight 7.8 pounds of nothing but muscle to turn the 180 hp Lycoming. This is the "No Bendix - Electromechanical Solenoid"! Permanent magnet with a 10# weight savings over OEM and twice the spin speed to quickly start the Lycoming.
