RV-6A Flight Instruments - ASI - RCA26 - PAI 700 - ALT
This aircraft is populated with new instrumentation throughout. Here is a nice presentation of the flight instruments:
Airspeed indicator
Model IF UMA-16-310-241D from Vans marked with the speeds applicable to the RV-6A. White, green and yellow marked. It indicates both knots and miles per hour. Mostly it stays at near the top of the yellow right next to that little red mark!
RC Allen Electric attitude Indicator RCA 26.
Similar in appearance to A.I.D. RC Allen Model RCA 22-7, but the RCA 26 employs an electrically driven gyro rotor. FAA TSO-C4c
Vertical Card Compass PAI 700
The PAI 700 is a dry compass without the leaks, slow response and it has a full display of the all quadrants in their true relation to line of flight. And guess what? East is east and west is west on this little jewel. TSO’d.
Altimeter Model ALT20INF-3N
This is a 3 pointer, with barometric window and has warning stripes. Calibrated to 20,000 with baro window displayed in inches of mercury.
